About Us - Jeanne Murphy

Mrs. Jeanne Murphy is a Senior Wildlife Biologist for Sensing Nature, LLC. She is skilled at creating formal and informal environmental training series, and is a professional speaker for local, state and national audiences. She is an award winning, certified instructor for the University of Florida’s Florida Master Naturalist Program. On behalf of University of Florida Professor Dr. Martin Main, Mrs. Murphy has also delivered many of his research-based coyote presentations throughout west central Florida.

Mrs. Murphy is passionate about sharing her enthusiasm for Florida’s wildlife and natural areas. She teaches interactive nature education to schools, the public, government staff and volunteer groups, commercial business owners, and non-profit organizations such as St. Petersburg and Clearwater Audubon Societies, Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers, Pinellas Chapter Native Plant Society, and the Sierra Club. She has many years of experience recruiting, training and supervising volunteers at profit, non-profit and governmental organizations. Her background includes habitat mapping throughout the United States for the National Wetlands Inventory and wildlife rehabilitation.

Mrs. Murphy is also an active community member. She is the Friends of Pinellas Master Naturalists president, a member of the Pinellas Living Green Expo Steering Committee, a former board member of St. Petersburg Audubon Society and a current Audubon/FWC beach nesting bird surveyor. She also participates in the Seminole Chamber of Commerce.
